Experts give tips on giddha, bhangra at special workshop

A workshop on dance, giddha and bhangra was organised at Dasmesh Auditorium of Guru Nanak Dev University here today. The special workshop was organised by the Youth Welfare Department with an objective of acquainting students, teachers and directors of various affiliated colleges about the technical knowledge and dos and don’ts in these dance items.

The workshop was inaugurated by Sukhi Brar, Dr Iqbal Singh Godara, Amrinder Singh Sandhu and Jujhar Singh, who also expressed their views on the occasion. They highlighted the technical aspects relating to performance of various items of dance, giddha and bhangra. They advised the participants about the beat of dhol and related steps.

While performing on the stage, they also replied to queries from artistes and their directors. Dr Jagjit Kaur, director of the department welcomed the guest speakers and gave details about the workshop.
