Extension of Asia House building inaugurated at GND varsity

Amritsar, April 5
Manohar Singh Gill, MP, Rajya Sabha, today inaugurated the extension of the Asia House building for which he had released a grant of Rs 50 lakh from the MPLAD funds to the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
Earlier also, Dr Gill gave financial assistance to the university for constructing an academic block and for setting up the astro-turf in the hockey stadium.
Dr Gill has contributed in the field of education through his continuous support for building infrastructure and also in the social sector by patronising education for girls and for skill development centres.
Dr Gill in his address lauded the university for its achievements in the field of education, sports and cultural activities.
He gave an account of how the university in the past four-and-a-half decades had fared to become one of the best institutions in the country.
Prof AS Brar, Vice-Chancellor, welcomed Dr Gill and apprised the audience of various roles and achievements of Dr Gill.
Prof Sharanjit S Dhillon, Registrar, coordinated the function and Prof NS Tung, Dean, Academic Affairs, proposed a vote of thanks.
Various deans, directors, faculty members, students and scholars of the university were among those others present on the occasion.
