The police have registered an FIR against Atul Punj, chairman-cum-managing director of M/S Punj Lloyd Ltd (PLL), Gurgaon, and others for fraud and breach of trust on the complaint of a local firm, M/S Harbhej Engineering Works Pvt, Ltd, Goindwal Sahib.
M/S Punj Lloyd Ltd had bagged the Goindwal Sahib Thermal Plant project worth crores of rupees over a decade ago. The firm assigned a part of the project to M/S Harbhej Engineering Works Pvt.
The complainant, Harbhej Singh, director of M/S Harbhej Engineering Works Pvt, said his firm did the task seven years ago but the accused refused to release his crane valuing Rs 2 crore for two years even after completion of the work. He said the monthly rent of the crane was Rs 4.5 lakh.
Sub-Inspector Kewal Singh, investigating officer, said further investigation was under way. A case has been registered. — OC
