Focused vision, right aim vital to weapon training, NCC cadets told

Focused vision, strong hold and right aim are vital to weapon training, said Col Narinder Singh while addressing NCC cadets during a firing camp at an undisclosed defence installation here today.
He said weapon training was the most important part for cadets aspiring to make a career in the defence services. Its objective was to cause maximum damage to enemy while using minimum ammunition.
He said hence, the major stress during the training of soldiers was on arms and ammunition.
Colonel Singh said therefore, cadets were imparted training in opening and fixing parts of a rifle and other weapons. Subsequently, safety measures to be adopted while firing the weapons were also taught.
He said all cadets in the firing camp would be offered opportunity to fire weapons. Later, firing competitions would also be held.
Col Balbir Srivastava, Army Recruitment Office, briefed the cadets on opportunities available to join the Army.
He said it was the only job which instill a sense of moral satisfaction and proud feeling among employees.
He elaborated that the NCC was a stepping stone to join the services and those who qualifies its A, B and C certificates would get additional marks while joining the Army. B-certificate candidates would get 20 marks and C-certificate holders would be exempted from the written examination.
Deputy Camp Commandant Col Sushant Sharma, Lt Sandeep Gupta, Lt Sukhpal Singh, Subedar Major Sukhwinder Singh, Paramjit Singh, Randhir Singh, Jatinder Singh and all subedars were among those others present.
