Free Urdu classes soon

Amritsar, June 29

District Language Officer Dr Bhupinder Singh Mattu has said that the department, under a new policy, would start free Urdu classes. The six-month refresher course in Urdu will be held to promote the language among youth.

Admissions for the course will begin from July 2 and will continue till July 9. Classes will be held at the department’s office near SSSS school building between 5.15 pm and 6.15 pm.

He said, “There was no age restriction for joining the course and people from any profession could join it. The idea is to promote the language.” — TNS
