Functions mark Mother’s Day celebrations

Various educational institutions in the city organised programmes to celebrate Mother’s Day here today.
Manav Public School
Manav Public School (MPS) celebrated Mother’s Day on its campus. Students from nursery to second participated in a programme along with their mothers. They presented cultural items on the occasion. They also sang poems appreciating and extolling virtues of mother. MPS chairman KR Maheshwary was the chief guest on the occasion.
Superkidz@HolyHeart
The tiny tots of Superkidz@HolyHeart showcased their talent during Mother’s Day celebrations. Lovejeet Kaur Kalsi, District Transport Officer, presided over the function. The programme kicked off with the lighting of a lamp, which was followed a briefing on the significance of the Mother’s Day. A foot tapping dance performance by mothers of students was a special attraction of the show. The song “Because you love me mother”, sung by moms left memories to be cherished.
Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School
Mother’s Day was celebrated at Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Majitha Road Bypass. The function started with prayers for seeking blessings of the Almighty. Rajmohinder Singh Majitha, Jaspal Singh, Navdeep Singh and Jyoti Arora, were guests on the occaison. Principal Dapinder Kaur welcomed the gathering and applauded the role of mother.
Kids Paradise
The students of Kids Paradise enthralled the audience with their performance expressing their innocent love for their mother. Games like making maximum plates, picking up the maximum beans with straw etc were organised for mothers. A masterchef mom competition was also organised for mothers in which they made one special dish. The winners were given prizes.
Ryan International School
Mother is the epitome of love and it is her selfless love and blessings that enables a person to do the impossible, this was the theme of the Mother’s Day celebrations at Ryan International School. Montessori students presented beautiful cards to their mothers where as students of Montessori II and III made bracelets to show that they care. Students of Classes III to V participated and expressed their views through poems on the importance of Mother’s Day.
GD Goenka School
Mother’s Day is something everyone can relate to. Keeping this bonding emotion in mind, GD Goenka School held a special celebration on Mother’s Day.
Students of KG and Class I presented a skit showing mother’s love and care for her children. They also sang songs and danced on the tunes of “I love my mother”.
