Two persons attacked ‘gatka’ trainer with sharp-edge weapons at Chatiwind Chowk, leaving him murdered, late on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Gurpreet Singh Guddu, who worked as a street vendor. One of the accused has been identified as Sukha Singh.
Gurpreet Singh had been reportedly receiving threats from Sukha Singh, who had an old rivalry with him. At around 10 pm on Monday, Gurpreet Singh was heading toward Gurdwara Shaheedan Sahib when the accused, accompanied by another person, attacked Gurpreet and killed him. The accused hit him with ‘kirch’ several times. Sevadars of Sewak Jatha reached the spot and found the body of Gurpreet Singh in a blood pool. He was rushed to Guru Ramdas Charitable Hospital where doctors declared him dead. The police have sent the body for a postmortem examination. A case has been registered against the accused.
