In a shocking incident, a youth in Naag Khurd village allegedly made an objectionable video of a girl and got a screenshot printed to paste her posters in the village for blackmailing her. Following a probe over a complaint lodged by the victim’s father in March, the police have now registered a case against the youth. No arrest has been made till now. The youth, Kamaljit Singh, of Naag Khurd village has been booked under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act. He has been absconding.
The complainant alleged that the accused took screenshot of an objectionable video of her daughter. He pasted posters in the village and started blackmailing her. The complainant alleged that the accused demanded Rs 70,000 from her. Kulwinder Singh, Station House Officer, Majitha police station, said the case was registered after a probe by Majitha DSP Yogeshwar Singh. The complainant filed a complaint on March 23 in this connection. He said raids were on to nab the suspect who has been at large.
