One Up library and Learning Centre turned into a party ground for Dracula, wicked witch of the East and zombies. Celebrating Halloween in a spooky way, children gathered at the learning centre all decked up in different costumes. The day celebrating the damned spirits world over is a tradition adopted from the West. Children turned the costume party turned into a competition where everybody tried looking more evil than the other.
“Halloween Day is celebrated as the day for the dark and deadly things in the West. For popularising the concept in city, we decided to arrange this party. It’s fun to see children turn out in interesting costumes and celebrate with the world,” said library attendant. “Over 50 children participated in the theme party, dressed to kill in their creative costumes. Bloody Mary, ghosts, the classic Dracula, witches with broomsticks were some of the favorite costumes and some turned looking like Jack O Lanterns, the carved Halloween pumpkin,” said Ridhi Sachdeva from One Up.
Trick and treating, of course followed and was the most enjoyed part where children were loaded with generous amounts of chocolates and candies. Live music kept the party going and there were some surprise gifts for children after the party got over.
Children as young as two years old participated in the event. One was dressed as an elephant. It was really wonderful to see how much effort they put in to plan and come up with the costumes, she added.
Even adults joined the celebrations with clubs like peddlers, stars and bar throwing Halloween bash. Guests turned out dressed as joker, zombies and ghosts for the night.
