‘Health scheme to help 2.10 lakh families in Tarn Taran’

A total of 2,10,609 families are likely to benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna in Tarn Taran district, stated a press release issued by the district administration today. The scheme enables the beneficiaries to avail cashless medical treatment at government and private hospitals empanelled by the government.

Tarn Taran MLA Dr Dharveer Agnihotri said the scheme would benefit 76 per cent of the population of the city. He said had the state government implemented the scheme as per the original guidelines of the Union government, only 12 per cent of the population would have benefited. Agnihotri claimed that the state government had planned to give benefit to a large section of the population. — TNS
