Higher Education Department promotes 19 as professors

The state government has promoted as many as 19 associate professors to professors. Some of these professors are serving in the local government college.
The Higher Education Department re-designated 19 associate professors working in different government colleges of the state as professors.
In a letter vide No. 11/77/ 2011-5 Ed 1/611621/ 1-5, dated 16.10.2015, 19 associate professors were elevated to the rank of professors under the career advancement scheme. They were selected on the basis of interview held by Punjabi University, Patiala, in March this year.
Those promoted as professor include Vijay Kumar Singh of Government College, Gurdaspur, Manjit Singh Saini of Government Mahindra College, Patiala, Harsh Mehta of Government College, Talwara, Rupinderjit Saini of Government College for Women, Patiala, Rajbala Sekhon of Government Ranbir College, Sangrur, Babinder Kaur of Government College for Women, Patiala, Kulbir Kaur of Regional Institute, Sector 32, Chandigarh, Inderjit Singh Cheema of Government Mohiondra College, Patiala, Parminder Singh of Government College for Women, Patiala, Urvashi Raul of Government College, Sector 42, Chandigarh, Jaspal Singh of Government College, Ropar, Jatinder Singh of Government College, Tanda Urmar, Jagtar Singh of Government Mohindra College, Patiala, and Ambika Beri of Government College, Patiala.
Besides, three associate professors from the local SR Government College for Women Lakhwinder Singh Gill, Suman Sharma and Khushpal Kaur were also promoted to professors.
