Kochar, who was key note speaker at the seminar, said, “General Dyer wanted to use ruthless power to control the situation where he could have done otherwise and saved many lives. The incident, as an aftermath, triggered chain reaction from each corner of the country. Every major freedom fighter, whether it was Bhagat Singh or Mahatma Gandhi, felt angered.” Kochar emphasised that Jallianwala Bagh incident was a catalyst that expedited achievement of independence.

The seminar was presided over by Dr Bhim Sen and Bhushan Behl, president, Jallianwala Bagh Martyrs Association.
