Hotels, clubs prepare for food fest ahead of Baisakhi

Cricket and festivals, the two reasons to let loose one’s tasting buds and enjoy the best in food business are coming up. Hotels and clubs in the city are ready with a lot of offers on platter. The Baisakhi festivities and the IPL season are just around the corner. Best Westerm Merrion will serve the best of Punjabi flavours during the Baisakhi Food Festival. A variety of non-vegetarian and vegetarian delicacies to suit everybody’s palate will be on offer during the event.
The elaborate menu includes kebabs, biryanis, tikkas, roomali rotis and the traditional sarson da saag and makki di roti. All the richness of Punjabi cuisine will be put in the menu. “The festival is open by the poolside, as guests can enjoy the cool evening breeze over some hot and spicy Punjabi food. Keeping the recipes traditional and authentic, we have used a lot of spices, especially cardamom, saffron and garam masala, in the cooking,” says Vandana, food and beverage manager, Best Western Merrion.
With a tagline “Saada virsa saada swad,” the festival is sure to titillate the taste buds of the city residents. Prepping up for the upcoming IPL season (moving over the World Cup), Buzz Lounge and the Sports Bar at Golden Tulip too is busy spicing up things for guests. “We have special bands playing live music all throughout the season along with special food and beverage menu, which includes beverages named on particular cricketers in the IPL. We also have impromptu prizes for our guests throughout when the games are on and a special bat signed by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar for one lucky guest,” says Gaurav Arora, managing director, Golden Tulip.
Country Inn too is coming up with a new IPL menu. “Every year we keep innovating our menu to provide different food experience for our guests. This year too, we will get an IPL menu, with a surprise makeover,” says Trilok Thakur, food and beverage manager, Country Inn.
