Amritsar, March 3
In response to a news item that appeared in these columns on March 2, Bhavans’ SL Public School has claimed that the school is not covered under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
School principal, Dr Anita Bhalla, said, “As per the circular issued from our head office Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai, dated May 28, 2013, the RTI Act is not applicable to the non-aided institutions.”
She emphatically stated that her school did not receive any letter, as mentioned in the news item, as claimed by the RTI activist PC Bali, to give information under the RTI.
