Int''l kabaddi player dies of heart failure

Tarn Taran/Amritsar, November 17

Sukhman Singh Chohla (27), international kabaddi player, died of heart failure on Friday night. The body was cremated at his native Chohla Sahib village on Saturday. People in large numbers took part in his last rites. He was unmarried.

Sukhman, along with his associates, had gone to Amritsar to get some work done for his newly purchased car on Friday. He complained of chest pain all of a sudden. He was taken to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead.

He had participated in a number of international kabaddi matches. He had also represented other countries as well, including Canada, America and England, in international competitions.

SAD leader Alwinderpal Singh Pakhoke (SGPC member) and SAD MLA from Khadoor Sahib Ravinder Singh Brahmpura were also present. Ranjit Singh Brahmpura said, "It is a tragedy beyond anyone's imagination. I share my deepest condolences with the bereaved family members.”

Achievements 

Hailing from Chohla Sahib village, Sukhman Singh Chohla (27) was an international kabaddi player who represented the nation in a number of international competitions. He also represented the US, Canada and the UK in a number of events. Residents and noted politicians have expressed shock over his demise.
