Amritsar, November 30

Cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majithia and Damdami Taksal today welcomed the Jagriti Yatra, which started off from Patna, after it reached Chowk Mehta here.

Devouts showered rose petals and raised religious slogans. 

Majithia said the 350th birth anniversary of the 10th Sikh Guru was being celebrated with religious fervour and devotion across the country.

He said the SGPC, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, the Sant Samaj, the Union Government besides the governments of Punjab and Bihar were investing Rs 100 crore to make the event memorable. 

He added that the Parkash Singh Badal government would run as many as 100 tains from different parts of Punjab to Takht Patna Sahib in Bihar.
