Amritsar, December 13
Experts and residents feel it is important that we use our energy resources wisely.
Every year, December 14 is observed as National Energy Conservation Day with an aim to highlight the nation’s commitment of energy efficiency and conservation as well as creating awareness among masses.
Many in the city feel that one must be judicious when it comes to using power at all places. “It has been generally observed that people do not turn off lights, fans at work places, they are only careful at their home. There is a need of serious change in attitude. We can begin by creating awareness among students,” said Prof Balvinder Singh, conservation spatial planner.
“Avoid creating pollution, use led lights in place of normal lights. Switch off lights. We need to create less pollution and save energy for our future,” he added.

Dr Rajesh Kumar, Principal, DAV College, said, “The solar energy plant has lowered our electricity bill. We plan to extend it to our college campus.”
