Amritsar, November 9
To commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, an exquisite kirtan darbar was organised by the Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) Charitable Society on the premises of Shri Guru Harkrishan International School, Ranjit Avenue.
The school was beautifully decorated with flowers, buntings and confetti and attractively illuminated with colourful lighting, giving it a carnival-like look. The ‘Palki Sahib’ was brought to the Darbar Hall by school member in charge Rajinder Singh Marwaha under the canopy of floral shower.
The kirtan darbar pulled a large number of devotees to take part in this holy procession and presented a heady mix of spirituality and opulence.
While welcoming the move to open Sri Kartarpur Corridor, CKD President Nirmal Singh said this historical initiative had facilitated a large number of devotees to fulfill their long cherished dream to visit Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan. He said each CKD School would organise a nagar kirtan to mark the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev.
