Kirtan darbar to be organised on July 23

The Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society will organise a kirtan darbar to mark the Gurpurb of eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Harkrishan, on July 23 from 5.00 pm to 10.30 pm on the premises Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, GT Road.

The organisers will set up a waterproof pandal equipped with 25 air-conditioners for the devotees.

An exhibition reflecting the life of the eighth Sikh Guru will also be organised. It will focus on the Sikh history and culture.

Speaking at a press conference, Charanjit Singh Chadha from Chief Khalsa Diwan, said, “The Chief Khalsa Diwan has been doing efforts to preserve the heritage and impart religious values to the next generation. This year, we are going to set up a waterproof pandal for the devotees.”

“The Chief Khalsa Diwan will honour SGPC chief Kirpal Singh Badungar, Jathedar Takht Sri Patna Sahib Giani Iqbal Singh and Baba Balbir Singh Seenchewaal on the occasion for their noble welfare services,” he added.

Bhai Ajit Singh, Bibi Prabhjot Kaur, Bhai Surinder Singh ji Jodhpuri, Bhai Guriqbal Singh ji, Bibi Kaulan ji wale and Bhai Manpreet Singh ji Kanpuri will also attend the kirtan.

Tajinder Singh, convener of the kirtan darbar, said, “It is an open invitation for everyone. Anyone can come and listen to the kirtan. We have made quality arrangements for the devotes. A number of prominent personalities will be present on the occasion.”

“The programme is a joint effort of Shri Amritsar Sewak Sabha Society, Waheguru Simran Sewa Society and Gurmat Satsung Sabha,” Tajinder Singh added.
