With a concept of sustainability in mind, volunteers of the Kora Kagaz, an initiative that began with an idea of using discarded or unused notebooks to make new notebooks for needy students, will now also focus to help students in the rural belt with schools having infrastructural issues.
Under the project, the volunteers of the project have carried out a free of cost distribution of study material in several schools, including Qilla Jiwan Singh village. A team from BBKDAV College and ‘I Responsible’ has been visiting various schools to work in collaboration.
“We have distributed 1,900 notebooks till date. We have managed to support with other requirements in the government middle and senior secondary schools being run in rural areas. Some of these schools lack basic amenities and infrastructure as well. So, we are planning to expand our activities,” informed Pratik Ira, from Kora Kagaz team.
