An expert in psychology from Stockholm (Sweden), Dr Sonia Heldestad, delivered an extension lecture on “Personality development” at Khalsa College of Education here today.
She said, “A personality’s growth is slow and gradual. It takes long to turn into a valuable human being.” She emphasised, “Everyone is influenced by an attractive personality and without influencing others you cannot get success in today’s competitive world.”
“A personality can be changed and altered with grooming. A poor personality cannot be the result of heredity in the sense that one inherits a good or bad personality. It is the result of our own outlook and response to things around us. This shapes our personalities,” she added.
Dr Mahmood Ahmad Khan, head and dean, Department of Education, University of Kashmir, also spoke on the occasion. Dr JS Dhillon, Principal, welcomed the guests.
