Activists of Left parties, including CPI, CPI (M), CPM and CPI (ML) held a demonstration and burnt an effigy of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in protest against the alleged molestation of a 13-year-old girl and her mother, who were later thrown out of the bus by the staff, which ultimately led to her and serious injuries to her mother in Moga recently. The bus belonged to the Orbit Bus owned by the Badal family.

They demanded that the case should be put on fast track court for early disposal and the culprits should be given exemplary punishment. They also sought registration of case against Sukhbir Badal. The Communist leaders also wanted that the Orbit bus transport, which is allegedly infamous for rude behaviour of its staff with the passengers and violating all rules and regulations, should be shut down.
