‘Love Shagun’ cast starts promo tour in city after paying obeisance at Golden Temple

Director of “Love Shagun”, Saandesh Nayak and the cast of the film, Vikram Kochchar and Manit Joura, visited the Golden Temple here today. They have been on an extensive tour of Punjab to promote their film. The film will mark the debut of television actor Anuj Sachdeva as the lead along with another fresh face Nidhi Subbaiah. Director Saandesh, too, is a popular face on the Indian television.

The cast began their film promotion in the holy city after paying obeisance at the Golden Temple. The film is a romantic comedy that revolves around a nerdy-looking Anuj as lead, who is out looking for the perfect girl to marry. “Like many eligible bachelors, our hero too finds himself in a dilemma – to find the perfect girl. Of course there are several important factors working while his search continues, such as his mother’s opinion and his belief in astrology. It is a relatable story that every youngster of a marriageable age will connect with,” says Saandesh.

Nidhi, who has worked in a number of Kannada films, plays the free-spirited urban girl, who catches the fancy of Anuj’s character. “The film shows how judgmental we can become without knowing a person. The stereotypical parameters of simple, homely girl for marriage still prevail and most fail to acknowledge that times have changed,” says the director.

The film has already been released in Maharashtra on February 26. It is set to release in Punjab with 350 prints on March 11. Saandesh says he deliberately wanted to divide the release of the film in different states. “Today, most low budget films come with a huge risk, especially alongside the big bannered multi-crore productions. There is no time for word of mouth publicity and the audience too wants fresh film every Friday. So, with a divided release, the risk factor is less. We also are able to identify the best market for our film.”
