The unprecedented development of the state in the reign of SAD-BJP government would be the core agenda on which the upcoming state election would be fought, besides targeting the Congress party for committing the blatant loot of Punjab’s waters since 70 years, said Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the road widening project at Sohian village in Majithia here today.
He said persons who had secretly colluded with Haryana on the SYL issues would also be exposed in the elections. Talking about the road widening project, he said the Sohian-Majithia-Boparai-Kathunangal road would be completed with a cost of Rs 22 crore. He also laid the foundation stone for the widening of roads from Madhipur to Bhalowali with a cost of Rs 3.5 crore and road from Wadala to Jijeaani via Budhatheh with the cost of Rs 4 crore.
Majithia said that Punjab was primarily an agrarian state and out of 138 blocks of the state, 105 blocks were facing serious water scarcity. He said if Punjab was divested off its waters the agrarian economy would be totally devastated.
