Man impregnates daughter

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly raped his 21-year-old daughter, leaving her impregnated. Later, he got her child aborted.

The police have booked the accused, identified as Anokh Singh (50), a resident of Toot village. He is at large.

The police were informed by Sukhjit Kaur, daughter-in-law (sons’ wife) of the accused, who has been residing in Ropar. She had come to her in-laws at Toot village about one and a half months ago when she observed the victim’s bodily changes. She questioned her father-in-law, who claimed that she was having some digestive problem and that the treatment was going on.

Sukhjit sought the victim’s medical reports, which the accused denied to show. When Sukhjit enquired from the victim, she spilled the beans, informing her about the sexual assault by her father and the abortion that she underwent after impregnation.

ASI Karamjit Kaur, who recorded the statement of the victim, said the accused was absconding. He has been booked under Sections 376, 313 and 201 of the IPC.
