After the bhog of the Akhand Path, Bhai Gopal Singh recited the hymns from Gurbani. Speaking on the occasion, SGPC chief secretary Harcharan Singh said Banda Singh Bahadur adopted the philosophy of Guru Nanak to stand for the depressed.
