Police investigations in the Rs 39 lakh theft case have zeroed in on two more persons. Earlier, the police had asked four persons, including the manager and group in charge of the store, to join the preliminary investigations on the basis of circumstantial evidence.
Jasdeep Singh Saini, SSP, Amritsar rural, said they were likely to crack the case in the next couple of days as they had managed to get some vital evidence in the case. “We will solve the case in the next two or three days as our investigations are confined to two suspects now,” he said.
Walmart authorities have lodged a complaint with the police about the theft of Rs 39 in lakh cash from an electronic safe of its Best Price store a couple of days ago. As there were no signs of any breakage, the police suspected the role an insider in the case. The CCTV cameras were also found to be tempered with. The police had asked four persons to join investigations at that time. — TNS
