Art, craft exhibition

In a call almost synonymous with the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, students of Class I and II of Spring Dale Senior School, urged the masses to cut down litter by turning their trash into treasure and also showed them how to do so during “Innovatus”, an art and craft exhibition, organised during the parent-teacher meet held in the school.

By using waste material, students gave the message of the need to conserve ecology. The entire junior wing of the school was turned into a wonderland with the help of masks and artifacts prepared by students and their teachers. “It was good to see chandeliers made of paper glasses hanging from walls, tribal masks made from waste material creatively mounted on bamboo sticks already available in the school and stationery cartons and styrofoam boxes converted into pyramids,” said Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, director, Spring Dale Educational Society. She said this was in fact the best way of reducing litter, which would ultimately end up on roads. — TNS
