No arrest in attack on BJP workers case, 15 booked

The Sadar police have booked around 15 persons in connection with the murderous attack on BJP workers in the Indira Colony area on the Majitha road late last evening.
Among those booked include Sham Kohli his two sons, Vikram Kohli and Sunil Kohli, brother-in-law of Virkam Kohli, Anu Kohli and 10 unidentified persons. A case under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 382 (theft after preparation having been made for causing death or hurt), 323, 427, 148 and 149, IPC, and 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered. However, even after more than 24 hours, the police was yet to arrest the culprits who have been on the run.
Harjit Singh Dhaliwal, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), said raids were being conducted at their suspected hideouts to nab the culprits. Meanwhile, the condition of Hardeep Singh Money, who sustained a bullet injury in the attack, is stated to be out of danger.
Three BJP workers and supporters of Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi were injured in the murderous assault.
Among those injured were identified as Talwinder Singh Bhatia, his nephew Hardeep Singh and Jatinderpal Singh, all residents of Indira Colony on the Majitha road. The incident occurred at around 6.30 pm when Talwinder Singh along with others was present at two shops.
Talwinder stated to the police that he had a cloth shop in his house and his nephew, Hardeep Singh, works with him. He said his son, Arvinder Singh, also had a mobiles shop adjacent to his shop. He said his son’s friend, Jatinderpal Singh, had come to meet him. He alleged that at around 6.30 pm, the accused carrying arms and sharp-edged weapons attacked and injured them.
