Authorities at the Shri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport barred the entry for visitors here on Saturday. Following the directions of the government, airport officials urged the visitors not to accompany the passengers as they would not be allowed to enter the main building.

The movement of flights and other operations are normal at the airport, but in the wake of tension with Pakistan, the government has taken some security measures, said an official.

Manoj Chansoria, Director, Shri Guru Ramdas International Airport said, “Normally, there is a visitor entry ticket which allows the family and friends of passengers to be with them in a separate area for departure and arrival. Now, we have stopped the entry to visitor’s hall till further notice.” Apart from this, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has beefed up the security at the airport.
