Noted chef Thomas Gugler to attend food fest

Chef Thomas Gugler, chairman, World Association of Chefs Societies (WorldChefs) will be the guest of honour in the world heritage cuisine summit and food festival beginning October 12 in the city. The summit is being hosted by the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA).
Speaking about the event, chef Manjit Gill, chairman, World Cultural Culinary Heritage Committee, said, “It is great for food enthusiasts to witness live demonstrations by renowned chefs from around the world. People must come and enjoy.”
“Getting Punjabi cuisine acknowledged and listed under the Food Edition of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage remains my priority. Culinary ambassadors from different parts of world are expected to carry back indelible experiences and memories of the diversity of the Indian cuisine and Punjabi hospitality to share and disseminate in their home countries,” he added. The event will take place at Qila Gobindgarh.
Srideep Kesavan, director, Juices Coca-Cola India, said, “The World Heritage Cuisine Summit and Food Festival is a great platform to celebrate culinary traditions and food customs from across the world. We are excited to partner with them. Food and beverages go together and beverages make culinary experience even better.”
Event director Herbbie Sidhu, managing director, Myriad Nuances, was also present. Countries such as Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Germany, Ghana among many are participating.
