To provide a platform to city’s budding acting talent, actor couple Anita Devgan and Hardeep Gill opened their acting school, Kuchi Muchi Acting Academy at Ranjit Avenue. With celebrity guests, Punjabi actor-singer Roshan Prince and Jasbir Jassi present for the inauguration, the academy will be first professional acting school in Amritsar.

Offering several courses in film and television industry, editing, production et all, the academy will run three six months programme. “The city has long awaited a professional acting school. Amritsar being a prominent theatre and creative hub in the region gets a lot of aspiring actors from surrounding small towns like Batala, Gurdaspur, Taran Taran and Jammu. The workshops and seminars take care of limited aspects of acting and theatre,” said Hardeep Gill, senior actor, who has been part of several critically acclaimed projects including national award winning film “Nabar”.

Anita Devgan said, “We aim to cover all areas, including technical and aesthetics of cinema and television. We have shortlisted students through auditions. The purpose is not just to groom the talent, but also create direct opportunities and live experience for them with the help of industry insiders.”
