Amritsar, June 17
Ola, a popular mobile app for personal transportation, today announced the launch of ‘Ola mini’ category of hatchback cabs on its mobile app in Amritsar.
With this launch, ‘Ola mini’ is now available in 85 cities across India. The Ola app currently offers customers a wide range of personal transportation options like Prime, Sedan, Mini, Kaali-Peeli taxis and autos across multiple cities in India.
The Ola app currently has over 1,50,000 vehicles available across 100 cities, making it the largest as well as the fastest growing cab-booking app in India.
At Rs 49, for the first 2 km, ‘Ola Mini’ will be the most convenient personal transportation option in the holy city. Post that, any additional distance covered will be charged at Rs 10 per km.
In a bid to ensure that more and more customers experience the benefits of travelling in an AC cab, Ola has made cars under the compact category available to its customers at the lowest rates compared to any other mode of personal transport in the city.
The cars that are a part of the mini-fleet include hatchbacks like Tata Indica, Maruti Swift and Nissan Micra among others.
Ola now has over 50 minis available for booking in Amritsar. Ola launched its sedan category in November in Amritsar and currently has over 150 cabs in this category.
“Ola mini has seen immense demand among customers across all cities it is present in. At Rs 10 per km, ‘Ola mini’ makes travel in an AC cab affordable for everyone in the city,” said Deep Singh, Business Head-North, Ola.
He said Ola has tied up with car manufacturers like Tata, Ford, Mahindra, Maruti and Nissan across cities to help drivers buy cars from them directly at discounts of up to Rs 1,00,000.
The company has also tied up with financial institutions to ensure that drivers are able to procure loans for buying their own cars easily. These initiatives by Ola aim to open up lucrative avenues of earning a livelihoodfor many people in Amritsar who have not been able to own a cab either because of lack of information or financial support for the initial down payment for cabs.
