People from all walks of life enjoyed the change in the temperature. Weather remained pleasent throughout the day as overcast skies kept the air cool. For the city residents, who have been reeling under the scorching heat for the past many days, it was a welcome relief.

A resident, NS Gabariha, said people who were holding back from venturing out of their houses to escape the heat wave went out freely today. Usually deserted roads in the afternoon earlier were seen brimming with life as the traffic increased.

On a business tour, Gokulkrishnan J from Chennai said it was sweltering heat here for the past many days. However, last night intermittent rain and overcast sky in the day brought down the temperature. It made it convenient to move out and do shopping and business.

However, many roads were seen covered under rain water. Commuters had a tough time driving. Pedestrians had to wade through these roads.
