A scuffle broke between parents and the staff of Ram Ashram Public School after some of them objected to the sale of books near the school building.
Deepak Thukral, a representative of parents, said, “Agitated parents were discussing the matter with school officials. As one of the parents was recording the proceedings on his cell phone, some staff members tired to snatch it from him.”
It led to heated exchanges between parents and the staff following which the school authorities closed the door.
He alleged that, “A kiosk has sprung up opposite the school premises overnight. It is selling books, note books and bags, with name of the school embossed all over.”
He said the school had introduced books of 12 different publishers, instead of the NCERT.
The president of Shri Ram Ashram Public School, Balbir Bajaj, said a group of misguided parents misbehaved with the staff and as a precautionary measure they called the police. He said the matter was amicably resolved after leaders of parents tendered an apology.
Books and bags were being sold at a kiosk outside the school premises and the school management had no control over it. He accepted that books of 12 different publishers were introduced as the NCERT books were incomplete.
