Local Youth Congress leader Vikas Soni shared his experiences with the mediapersons here today after attending the 76th edition of the international visitor leadership programme (IVLP) in the USA.

He said, “In the USA parents prefer to send their wards in government schools instead of private schools. We visited many schools there and learnt about the education system.”

He said being a Youth Congress leader, he would appraise the party leadership and try that the system gets replicated in schools of Punjab after the 2017 elections. “The Indian political system should adopt the good points of the US system to make it better,” he added.

Talking about the cordial relations between India and the USA, he said both the countries enjoyed amiable relations as was reflected from the warm welcome Indian delegates received at different places.

Soni was the only leader from Punjab, who was selected to attend IVLP in the USA. Giving details, he said the selection was done by the USA government and their embassy officials. Soni said they visited Washington DC, Portland, Oregon, Chicago, Illinois, Little Rock and Arkansas. The expenses of whole trip were borne by the USA government, he added.
