The incident led to stone pelting in the locality due to which two cars were damaged. Police teams from Division B, Sultanwind and Rambagh rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.

The injured were identified as Sukrat Kalra and Vikas Mahajan of Vijay Mahajan group, besides Sunny Kumar and Vikramjit of Jagjit Singh Shanga group. They were admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

Those booked include Ravi, Vijay Mahajan, Bablu, Vikas, Raja and Kewal Krishan.

Amrik Singh, SHO, Division B police station, said property dispute between Jagjit Singh Shanga and Vijay Mahajan was the root cause behind the incident. One of the person from Vijay Mahajan group also resorted to fire during the clash.

Jagjit Singh Shanga, a junk dealer, was running a shop on rent in the Ekta Nagar area for over two decades. However, Vijay Mahajan, who runs a hardware shop, nearby purchased the property. He allegedly wanted to get it vacated while a case was pending in the court, said SHO.

A brawl broke out between two groups late last evening. However, the people gathered there and got the matter resolved amicably. Today morning, when Jagjit Singh Shanga was opening the shop, Vijay Mahajan along with several others reached the spot and entered into a clash. They also indulged in the stone pelting which led to the injuries to several persons. The SHO said a case under Sections 307, 148 and 149 of the IPC and 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against Vijay Mahajan and his associates in this regard. He said raids were being conducted to nab the culprits.
