Reality show woos best talent in region

The audition for the reality show, India’s Got Talent, was held with celebrity chef Harpal Sokhi, actor Sana Saeed and rapper Raftaar as special guest stars in Amritsar.

The auditions were held at Khalsa College where hundreds of aspirants gathered to try their luck. The celebrity trio ensured the audition remained entertaining through interactive activities and on the spot challenges like lassi-drinking and rap competitions.

The aim is to delve into the culturally rich background of the city to dig out the best talent. “The calibre of the diverse talent that is housed in India has the potential to make our country proud. Being a Punjabi rapper, I’m very excited to be in Amritsar. The city is known to house the most incredible talent across art forms and we are certain we witnessed some great performances.”

Sana Saeed, who became a crowd favourite, also shared her excitement on being in the city. “As the new season approaches, there was an air of excitement and crackling energy as these contestants auditioned for the show. I hope the best of them go ahead and show their talent to the country.”

Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi said, “In a diverse land like India, talent resides in the heart of every citizen’s daily lives – be it at home, work, or otherwise. India’s Got Talent recognises talent in its true form and gives it a platform to shine. A rich and diverse city when it comes to talent, the spiritual city of Amritsar is known for its giddha dance and good food. Being a chef, I can’t wait to taste the Punjabi flavour in this city. We are reaching out to the hardworking and talented individuals who believe in themselves and their ability not only to showcase before India, but also the world, what they’re made of.”
