Renovation begins at Fawara Chowk

The Public Works Department (PWD) has initiated the work to give a historic look to Old Fawara (Fountain) Chowk. PWD Officials said as per the design an 80-feet-high fountain and a statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh would be installed at the place.

The PWD also plans to give a new look to Ambedkar Chowk, front face look of the buildings from Hall Gate to Town Hall, besides widening of road from Town Hall to the Golden Temple. Officials said the new look to these historical places would be given under the beautification project for which Rs 139 crore had been earmarked by the government.
