One of the weapons, a .32-bore revolver, used in the bank dacoity was a stolen one. The four robbers, who were arrested by the police in connection with the bank robbery, confessed to this during their interrogation. They had stolen a car and a .32-bore revolver from the Rayya bus stand in November 2014.
The police have arrested Sandeep, Malkeet Singh, Jagdeep Singh and Buta Singh, all residents of Tarn Taran, for looting Rs 21.77 lakh from Punjab National Bank, Dayal Bharang village branch, that falls under Ramdass police station (Amritsar rural police) on February 9. A case under Sections 392 and 342, IPC, has been registered in this regard.
With the help of CCTV footage, a manhunt was launched to arrest the culprits. They were arrested by the police on February 14. The police had confiscated a .32-bore revolver besides three other firearms used in the dacoity.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had found the revolver in a Swift car, which they had stolen from the Rayya bus stand on November 7, 2014. A case under Section 379, IPC, was registered at the Beas police station.
