Rising Star Corps cyclists reach city to mark 1965 war

As part of the Golden-Jubilee celebrations of the Indo-Pak War of 1965, a cycling expedition from Jammu to Delhi has been organised by Rising Star Corps. The expedition comprising four Officers, six Junior Commissioned Officers and 49 other ranks reached Amritsar today on transit route.

The aim of the expedition is to portray the glory of victories of the Indian Army in the 1965 war.

After arriving here from Jalandhar, the expedition was flagged in by the Panther Division.

Members of the cycle expedition interacted with the schoolchildren of Army Public School, Khasa, and Army Public School, Amritsar. A documentary on the 1965 war also was screened for the students.

The expedition will be flagged off by General Officer Commanding, Panther Division, tomorrow for their next destination — Ferozepur. The expedition will reach its final destination, i.e. Delhi on September 19.
