Sambhav aims to plant one crore saplings in city

Sambhav, an NGO, which successfully carried out a plantation of over one lakh saplings in Ludhiana in one hour last year, is looking for associates in Amritsar. The representatives of the NGO are in city to look for possible partnership for more plantation programmes. Working in the field of environment education and conservation for quite some time, the NGO involved residents throughout Ludhiana last year to achieve the record feat of planting one lakh saplings in just an hour.
Next on the NGOs agenda is to successfully carry out plantation of over one crore saplings by involving 20 lakh people till July this year.
Raising the bar, the environmentalists in city too feel that such activities send out positive message among youth. Sambhav, started as a social club, took matters into its own hands when Ludhiana was declared one of most polluted cities of the world by a WHO report. The NGO also runs a save our cyclists campaign apart from plantation drives. Members of the NGO involve government institutions, corporates and general public in their campaigns. They will meet prominent NGOs in the city to chalk out plans for proactive residents support and awareness campaigns.
