Schools told to conserve water

Joint Secretary, Transport, Priyank Bharti motivated schools heads for water conservation here on Thursday. He also paid a visit to government schools to check water conservation mechanism.

Bharti along with Simarjit Kaur, Director, Union Ministry of Food Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs, Dr Sandhya Bhullar, Director, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Nagraj, Department of Water Resources, and Chitra, Department of Water Resources, visited GGSSS, Jandiala Guru, to motivate students to save water under Central government’s water conservation programme.

Deputy DEO Rajesh Sharma with Principal Suman Kanta welcomed them. District Education Officer Salwinder Singh Samra held a meeting with school heads and others at GSSS, Mall Road. Bharti was also present and motivated everyone regarding water conservation. — TNS
