Annual sports day
“The sports that inculcate fair play, teamwork, sportsman spirit, bonding and patriotism among the children are fading away as more and more children are glued to modern day electronic gadgets like mobile phone, computer and television, leaving no time to play outdoor.” Aakash Khandewal, member of the Delhi Public School management, said while inaugurating the annual sports day of the students of pre-nursery and prep classes of DPS. School principal Sangeeta Singh, while addressing students and their parents at the event, said,“The loss of activity has given place to bloated egos and the desire to win at any cost, which is an unhealthy trend. In order to check this, the event is being held not only for the tiny tots but for the parents as well”. The parents and their children competed in fun filled sports events, including pick and drop race, burst balloon, pastry race and musical chair ‘hurdle race’, ‘target game’ and bonded with their children in action activity.
