School Education Minister OP Soni inaugurated ‘Amir Swaran Auditorium and Convention Centre’ at Holy Heart Presidency School here on Sunday.

The event started with annual day and prize distribution function with opening of a state-of-the-art auditorium.

School’s director Anjna Vijay Seth read the institute’s annual report of the past session highlighting achievements of the students. This was followed by the annual prize distribution wherein meritorious students were awarded trophies and cash scholarships for their excellent performance in both scholastic and co-scholastic activities.

The cultural programme ‘Main Punjab Bolda Haan’ commenced with the chanting of a holy Shabad. This was followed by scintillating dance performances and choreographies depicting the prosperous Punjab of the yester years and the present day Punjab battered and bruised by the problems of drug addiction, brain drain, unemployment and erosion of Punjabi culture and language.

School’s chairman Vijay Seth, director Anjna Vijay Seth, principal Vikram Seth and principal Shilpa Seth felicitated the chief guest, guests of honour and other dignitaries. Padma Shri Puran Singh Wadali, Kewal Dhaliwal, Jatinder Brar, chairman, Naatshala were among the prominent present.
