Special events mark Karva Chauth celebrations

Women were seen fasting with patience and having fun while performing traditional ceremonies, thanks to various special events that marked Karva Chauth. Several clubs and hotels in the city made arrangements for exciting activities for the day to keep the ladies high on energy.
Rotary Club arranged a special retreat for the day. Tambola, a couple games and musical performances kept the fun alive at Holiday Inn.
Lovely ladies dressed to kill also walked the ramp justifying their efforts. They put on a display their finery and style for the title of Karva Chauth Queen. Ramninder Grover, organiser of the event, said, “Ït’s otherwise a tough day for women, who fast but these glamorous activities help distract the hunger pangs for a while. We had a fun filled afternoon and also adjudged winners in different categories between 25 to 45 years.”
Heritage Club and Amritsar Club too had an entire day of fun filled activities like card playing, tarot reading, henna and tattoo artists for their members.
“It’s better to be a part of some event and grand celebrations as the day passes quite easily. Also, we get to spend quality time together,” shared Kavita Kapoor, who along with her husband enjoyed the day out at Amritsar Club.
Stalls after stalls lined up in the by lanes of the walled city and outside were the Karva Chauth hot spots for women, young girls, who lined up to buy dozens of sparkling bangles in every possible colour like tomorrow will never come.
Wellness experts too made the day special for the women folk with discount offers on make-up and beauty treatments, which successfully caught the attention of many.
