Stalking of daughter: Woman alleges police inaction in the case

A woman living in the Chowk Phulawala area has accused the local police of inaction. She has been seeking action against a youth who she alleges is stalking her daughter for the past one and a half year. She has also lodged a complaint with the Police Commissioner who has marked an enquiry to an ACP-rank official in this regard.
Meenu, a resident of Gali Luhara, Katra Chadat Singh at Chowk Fulla Wala in the walled city area, in a complaint to Police Commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh alleged that a youth of the same area has been harassing her minor daughter and family members for the past one and a half year. She alleged that the accused threatened to throw acid on her daughter if she did not marry him. She said earlier too similar instances had occurred in which the accused allegedly stopped her daughter in the middle of the road and forcibly took pictures with her. She demanded registration of a case against the suspects. She allegedthat at least four times, two families had reached a compromise after the boy apologised but he did not relent.
Amandeep Singh Brar, ACP (Central), who is investigating the case said preliminary investigations revealed thatthe girl had an affair with the boy.
He said the accused boy and his family had refuted the charges levelled by Meenu. He said further investigations were under progress and it wouldtake some time for their completion.
