As many as 725 students of the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 sessions were awarded degrees at a convocation organised by Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Sarhali, 22 km from here, last evening.

Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal, president, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhk Committee (SGPC), was the chief guest. Baba Hakam Singh and other members of the college managing committee honoured him.

Longowal, in his address, appealed to the students to follow the teachings of Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He recalled the contribution of Baba Tara Singh, founder of the college, who established a degree college in the backward area more than 45 years back. College Principal Summi Arora highlighted the progress of the college.
