The city police conducted an awareness rally during the traffic awareness week (January 9 to 16 ) here today. A large number of schoolchildren participated in the rally. They raised slogans to make the public aware about traffic rules. The students told traffic violators to not jump the traffic lights and wear helmet during the rally at Novelty Chowk.

Hardial Singh, Traffic Police Officer, said: “We have been observing the traffic awareness week to make the public aware about traffic rules. A large number of people lose their lives in road accidents. We make the public aware to follow rules for their safety.”

Hardial said: “We are trying to educate the students in their school days so that they follow the rules in the future. The students also make aware their parents about traffic violations.” — TNS
