Amritsar, April 8
State-of-the-art high speed Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches have replaced the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) coaches for daily Amritsar Swarna Shatabdi Express train being run between New Delhi and Amritsar.
LHB coaches were introduced in the country in 1998. These coaches are preferred for better safety design, big windows and lighting arrangements. Following this, the railways decided to gradually replace ICF, Chennai, manufactured coaches.
Amritsar railway station director Amrit Singh said all 18 coaches of this train were provided with upgraded interiors and exteriors.
